All things in the universe (1)
A black coat that looks luxurious at first glance, herringbone-patterned suit pants, and a white shirt underneath. A strand of wavy blonde hair falls from beneath a bucket hat.
Again.
Again.
The low-heeled shoes made a crackling sound at a steady beat as they hit the rough asphalt.
The atmosphere is completely out of sync with the dark alley where even the streetlights are turned off. People who were gathered under the brightly colored graffiti and smoking cigarettes were busy whispering and glancing at the woman. However, even though it was night, a face wearing sunglasses glanced at them and began to tremble like a delicate rabbit in front of a large carnivore. The woman did not even snort and looked away with an expressionless face.
Again. Again.
The woman walked into the alley with neat steps as if she had not been disturbed.
The place where the woman stopped was a building so old that one wondered if it was even inhabited.
“… “I told you to move.”
The woman, who was looking at the first floor with a broken window with her lips twisted in disapproval, went back to the back of the building and climbed the stairs. Again. Again. Again.
Past the first floor, to the second floor. 3rd Floor. I went up to the 7th floor without stopping.
Unlike the downstairs, where the lights were off, noise was escaping from the top floor. The only alphabets remaining on the broken and rattling doorplate are a and n.
The thumping sound of music is leaking through the crack in the door.
The visitor who came up the stairs hesitantly held the doorknob and caught his breath. It was clear that he didn’t want to go in, but the door slowly opened.
I expected it from the faint sound of music, but even though it was shabby, the door was a door and was probably blocking the sound in its own way, so when I opened the door, I heard loud music that made me frown. The woman clicked her tongue lightly at the explicit lyrics and entered the house. bang. The feeling of discomfort was clearly revealed.
The inside of the door is wide.
The wooden floor creaks whenever weight is placed on it. The wall paint has peeled off, and the gray bricks are clearly visible.
A lantern, left on fire and left unattended, hangs precariously from the ceiling. The thing that illuminates the large space without walls is an old stand. Even that wasn’t enough, it only illuminated the area around the old armchair with the sponge sticking out.
Next to the armchair is a precariously stacked pile of books. Instead of using the nightstand full of empty liquor bottles and empty cup ramen containers, the pile of books seemed to have been used as a table, and stains of burned coffee were visible on the cover of the book on top. On top of it, the coffee, which had not yet lost its warmth, was creating new marks.
On the other side of the armchair, you can see a wall covered in paper. There were some tattered newspaper articles, but most of them appeared to have been printed from separately edited materials. Someone even supplemented the data by writing with a red pen.
The woman stood in front of the wall, lifted the paper with thin fingers and read the writing.
